    Hey there!
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
The general idea behind SEO is to help boost your site’s rank with the search engines so that you get more exposure and more people see your site.
When you rank higher with the search engines you’ll get more traffic and inherently more customers and money. That’s the idea!
If I were you,I would check out http://www.AionMarketing.com. They’ve got some really good service explanations and some really affordable packages.

This is how I use SEO
Each page of my site site has it’s own unique page title, description, keywords etc.. I use 25 or less keywords per web page, and make sure I use different ones for different pages.
    Meta tags look like this:
    Page Title:
    < title>Showbiz,entertainment and media news –Digital Spy< /title>
    Meta Description:
< meta name="description" content= "Entertainment news about the biggest TV shows, films and celebrities, updated around the clock." / >
    Meta Keywords:
    < meta name ="keywords" content="showbiz,big brother,x factor,torchwood,doctor who,tv,media,sky,freeview,cable" / >
    Links
I build links to my website –one way links are links from one website to you –reciprocal links are links where a site links to you and you link back
    Why is it all Important?
Optimizing your website brings you free targeted traffic. Using SEO correctly also means more targeted visitors and helps you to develop a strong brand that is recognizable in your marketplace or your industry.
Sites which rank highly in search engines give customers the impression that the website is a professional market leader.

SEO is simply the process of achieving high rankings for your website in Google and other search engines. You can hire an SEO company to do the work for you or you can attempt to teach yourself.
Other than SEO the main part of online marketing is pay per click advertising.

    Hi,
SEO means search engine optimization. It is a process of getting you site to rank high in search engines for particular keyword or keywords. For example, you want to sell car parts. So you want to show high in Google and Yahoo when someone search for “buy car parts online”for example. For this you have to do SEO. It involves quite a few things and is a bit time consuming. You should make sure someone who does it know what they are doing.
Where to get it? There are companies offering SEO as well as individuals.
You should visit internet marketing forums and freelance sites and look for people there. There are lots of people providing SEO services so you will have no problems to find someone. But remember,SEO is not cheap so make sure that you are dealing with someone honest. How? There are feedback systems on those forums and freelance sites, you can always ask around as well and do not pay for all in advance. You can agree to pay for parts of the job.

    Hey There,
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Basically put you are trying to optimize your website so that it stands out from all the rest to the Search ENgines (like Google and Yahoo and MSN) and rises to the top.
    How it works:
There are two different factors that you must address if you want to rank well:
On-page Factors:factors that you control from within your website
Off-page factors:things you try to have done outside your website
    ********************
    On-page Factors
    ********************
On page factors include optimizing your:
    - Title Tags
    - Keyword Meta Tags
    - Description Meta tags
    - H1 Tags
    - Having a Privacy Policy,a contact us page,a terms of service page,etc.
Those are most of the things the Search Engines are going to look at when it comes to on-page factors
    ********************
    Off-page Factors
    ********************
Think back to High School and how the Prom King and Prom Queen were chosen. They were voted on right?
Well that’s how websites that rank the highest are also chosen to show up near the top. Those that have the greatest number of “votes”or in the case of SEO “back links”or “in-coming links”
Then there’s the mysterious “PR”or Page Rank rating that goes along with links. Lets go back to the High School Prom Night analogy shal we…
( real quick PR is a graduated scale from 0 –10. With 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. However 2 is not two times better than 1. In reality it is much much greater than one. Let’s say it was 10 times greater than one, that would mean 1 link from a PR 2 web page would equal 10 links from a PR 1 web page. Make sense?)
So this is like the Captain of the football team having more pull with His vote than say,the captain of the chess team.
So when you are building links to your website you want to go for links from pages that are much greater than PR1 or PR 2.
here’s a link to an awesome tool that will help you figure out the PR of a page:http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus (it’s a plugin for Firefox.)
    ****************************
    Ways to build “backlinks”
    ****************************
    - Submit your site to directories (this is an old method and doesn’t work as well anymore.)
    - Trade links with other sites (this too is an old strategy and doesn’t work as well anymore.)
    - Buy them out right (places like Digital Point Forums)
    - Write articles and submit them to article directories
    - Create Press Releases and use PRWeb.com
    - Use Web 2.0 sites like (twitter, facebook, blogs, linkedIn,etc. basically anywhere you can put a link without being considered SPAM)
    - Create a blog and link to your site that way
    - Leave comments in forums and put your link in a signature file (DONT SPAM FORUMS)
    - Leave comments on blogs with your link in there (AGAIN DONT SPAM BLOGS EITHER)

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
    Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
    very large Internet Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
    in a sense,will be invisible,undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
    at Google and Yahoo.
Design:Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title,Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so,leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example,if they are on analog/dialup,Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question,“Who’s my end user –is he on dialup or
DSL?”And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
    is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.
    Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title”metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title”should describe in generic
    terms,the goods and services,followed by a location
from which the resource is located,i.e.,city,state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title”is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the “Description”which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.
And the very last category –“Keywords”are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries”which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing”when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
    directory.
    Good luck!
